Edward Christopher Sheeran, MBE (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (pronounced "plus"), was released in September 2011. It topped the UK and Australian charts, reached number five in the US, and has since been certified eight-times platinum in the UK.

The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John.

Ed Sheeran has paid tribute to Jamal Edwards and described how 'he would not be here without him professionally and personally'.The Shape of You hitmaker, 31, who was reportedly spotted offering his support to grieving mum Brenda Edwards at the vigil to remember the music mogul in West London Tuesday evening, took to Instagram to share touching words with his 37.1million followers.

Ed posted a photograph with the SB.TV founder, who died on Sunday 20 aged 31, with the pair both wearing matching grey hoodies printed with 'The Grime University'.

The singer-songwriter penned: "I haven’t posted anything coz I can’t find the words, I can’t reply coz I don’t know what to say.

Jamal is my brother. His light shone so bright. "He only used it to illuminate others and never asked for anything in return.
