In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John.
Ed Sheeran went viral once again on Tuesday as he shared a video of a heartwarming fan encounter on Instagram. On Tuesday, the 33 year old musician uploaded a video on Instagram showing him serenading an unsuspecting jogger.
The chart-topping artist captioned the posted video: "Was filming a video on the canal today, played a request. If anyone knows the runner lemme know so we can have their POV video for the lols".
BBC Breakfast caught up with the jogger in question, teacher Nikki Atkins, on Wednesday. Nikki unexpectedly bumped into Ed on her first run in several months and described the occasion as 'so random' and 'surreal'.
She recalled: "Inside I was in complete turmoil and in my head, the time it took me to ask for a song was a really long time, I am so shocked that it was that rapid when I saw his video.
