EasyJet customers have been warned to prepare for disruption today due to an ongoing IT issue. Sky News is reporting that the airline has cancelled around 200 flights - with flights due to depart between midday and 2pm on Thursday affected.
It is unclear as to how many flights leaving Scottish airports are impacted by the disruption. Officials at Edinburgh Airport have urged passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport today.
A spokesperson for the airport wrote: “EasyJet are experiencing an IT systems issue, with some disruption to their flights as a result.“Their teams are working to have the issue resolved as soon as possible.“Please check with the airline for any updates on your flight or baggage.”In a statement issued to Sky News, easyJet apologised to customers impacted by the disruption.They said: “Our team of IT specialists is working to restore the systems as soon as possible. “We advise customers due to travel with us today to continue to check Flight Tracker to check the status of their flight before making their way to the airport. “We apologise for the inconvenience caused and would like to thank customers for their patience as we work to resolve this as soon as possible.”We have approached easyJet for further comment.
