Eastriggs man Colin Bowman has been left distraught by an act of vandalism on a noticeboard he made for the local community.The 73-year-old spent lockdown last year dedicated to crafting the glass-fronted message board.But it was vandalised just two days after being erected outside the Baxter Memorial Hall.Mr Bowman said: “It was a labour of love for the community and I was just so sad to see it tarnished within a matter of days.”“There are always bad eggs in a basket.
But we will be putting it back and in a more protective covering.”Mr Bowman and his wife Maureen moved to Dumfriesshire from Camberley in Surrey and they have been welcomed by Church of Scotland members.And the project for the hall, which was built in 1914, kept him busy
