EastEnders viewers heartbroken as 11-year-old Bailey Baker runs away from home

EastEnders viewers were moved over emotional scenes on Thursday night, as young Bailey Baker decided to run away from home. After misinterpreting a comment from her teacher Isaac Baptiste, as well as overhearing her dad Mitch Baker discuss the family's money woes, Bailey decided it would be best for everyone if she wasn't there.

Earlier on in the week she opened up on the pressure of the looming award ceremony, after winning a competition, knowing dad Mitch and stepmother Karen Taylor could not afford to send her to space camp.

Feeling like a burden, she watched on as Karen went hungry to make sure her kids were all fed - even lying that the camp was paid for already given she was the competition winner, with all expenses paid.
