Now 57, she's swapped Michelle's iconic shoulder-length curls for a chic bob.Fans were taken aback by her new look in a recent photo where she was seen smiling alongside Michelle Collins, who played Cindy Beale in EastEnders, donning a white T-shirt and black pinafore dress.
During her stint as Michelle, Susan was embroiled in numerous dramatic plots, most notably when Michelle fell pregnant at 16 by 'Dirty Den' Watts, the adoptive father of her best friend, Sharon Mitchell.After exiting Walford in 1995, the character of Michelle returned in 2016, but Susan chose not to reprise her role, with Jenna Russell stepping into the part for just over a year.
The ex-Grange Hill star has since retired from acting and transitioned into directing, working on shows such as Silent Witness, Stella, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and Strike.She also directed two episodes of the BBC police drama Line of Duty and the ITV thriller Too Close.
