And now, the 66-year-old actress - who appeared consistently on the show from 2003 to 2008 - has admitted she's "really pleased to get the chance to play [Yolande] again".

With the character making an unexpected visit to see on-off husband Patrick Trueman (played by Rudolph Walker) after being thrown out by boyfriend Anton (Chris Geere), speculation has been rife over whether she truly has feelings for her ex hubby all over again. "I don’t think she’s ever not had feelings for Patrick," Angela admitted, in the same week that saw EastEnders fans 'work out' who Sharon marries after Keanu called off their wedding. "I think she’s always loved him and thought she was going to greener pastures with Anton, but the greener pastures have failed her.

Although the Truemans divorced in 2009 when Yolande took a new job and Patrick chose to stay in Walford, the pair got back in touch recently, and EastEnders bosses have promised there is "unfinished business" for them. "She’s realising that Patrick is the true love of her life, and he loved her honestly and truly.
