Gemma Bissix is set to celebrate her fortieth birthday on June 6, and will have been acting for more than thirty years when she does.
The soap star, who recently opened up about her experience of sexual assault as a teenage actress , first appeared on EastEnders when she was just nine years old.
It’s probably no surprise that, some three decades on, the star has changed a lot. She joined the show as Clare Bates in 1993 and remained in the role for five years before leaving the soap in 1998.
Gemma later joined rival soap Hollyoaks in 2009 when she played Clare Devine for two years. The star would reprise her role on Hollyoaks twice - first, when she returned in 2009 and four years later in 2013 when she made a fleeting comeback.
