EastEnders explains Cindy's return from the dead as past life revealed
ok.co.ukAfter a 25 year absence, the truth about Cindy Beale’s whereabouts was finally revealed to fans on Thursday, when a special 35 minute episode explained the secret behind the Walford icon’s secret identity as Rose Knight.
As regular viewers will know, the last time we saw Cindy Beale in the soap prior to this week’s revelations, Cindy had widely been believed to have died in childbirth, while serving time in prison for the attempted murder of her husband Ian Beale.
However, as it emerged on tonight’s episode, Cindy had not died in prison, but instead had turned informant for her former cellmate, and had been granted a plea deal which allowed her to enter a witness protection programme in exchange for helping the police.
While in hiding and living under her new identity, Cindy had met and fallen in love with George Knight, who appears to be none the wiser about her history and connection with Albert Square.
