EastEnders airs violent showdown as Mick punches Max across an entire room

EastEnders fans were treated to some seriously dramatic scenes, and a minor stunt of sorts. Max Branning found himself flung across The Queen Vic, before crashing into a table and chairs - and not to mention glasses.

He was brutally attacked by Mick Carter, who was ready to take him on over his fling with his wife Linda. Mick was furious to learn Max wasn't going to leave Linda alone, or give up on the hope of a reunion after Linda chose her husband over him.

Max began goading him, suggesting Linda was only with him out of pity in a cruel taunt after learning about Mick's past sexual abuse ordeal.

Mick had been sexually abused as a child by his care worker Katy Lewis, and Jack's police detective brother wrongly told Max about this.
