It is shaping up to be a very historic year on Strictly Come Dancing as it has been announced that British actress Rose Ayling-Elli will be vying for the Glitterball trophy.
The EastEnders star will become the first-ever deaf contestant on the BBC One dancing competition. This isn’t the first time the English actress has made telly history either; she became the first deaf actor to play a deaf character in EastEnders when she was cast as Frankie Lewis in 2020. ‘To be the first deaf contestant on Strictly is sooooo exciting… and a little bit scary,’ the soap star said of the news.
