Former EastEnders actor Paul Nicholls admitted that he was left fearing for his life as he battled an addiction to drugs. The 42-year-old star, who played Joe Wicks in the soap until 1997, had opened up about battling depression as he tried to get his addiction under control in recent years.
Speaking to The Sun, the actor revealed that he had struggled with a relapse in 2020, at which some points he wouldn't sleep for several days at a time.
