One in 50 Brits are living with bipolar disorder.That’s 1.3 million, yet it can be tough to get a diagnosis – with 67% of people initially receiving no advice on how to manage it.

World Bipolar Day, on 30 March every year, aims to raise awareness and eliminate social stigma.That’s also been a long-running aim of EastEnders, with actress Lacey Turner praised for her portrayal of her character Stacey’s mental health struggles.

Many celebrities have opened up about living with bipolar, including the likes of Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Stephen Fry and Kanye West.
