Brits are being urged to snap up payments worth up to £600 while they still can, as time is ticking on the Household Support Fund which has been extended until the spring.
English councils received £421 million to give out to those in need, with an additional £79 million distributed among local authorities in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Low-income families and individuals feeling the pinch can seek cost of living aid through their local authority. However individual councils make their own decisions in how to use the government-provided funds, with some offering awards from £125 up to £600.
With the deadline for the current run of the Household Support Fund fast approaching on Monday, September 30, those eligible are encouraged to apply soon.
