People across England and Wales will receive an extra £737 from today if they are eligible for Personal Independence Payments (PIP).
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has raised the amount paid to claimants in line with inflation. It means various benefits are increasing by 6.7%, which was the Consumer Price Index rate of inflation measured last September.
From today (April 8), claimants will begin to benefit from the higher payment. Over the course of 2024-25, it will be worth an extra £737 in PIP, Yorkshire Live reports.
Claimants will receive a final total of £9583.60 across the next 12 months.
