The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced that some benefits, including Universal Credit, will be paid early next week due to the bank holiday.
Payments of Universal Credit due on Wednesday, January 1, will be processed a day earlier on Tuesday, December 31. This adjustment is made because benefits are not typically disbursed on bank holidays.
Child Benefit payments, which are usually made on Mondays and Tuesdays, will also see changes. Those expecting payments on Monday, December 30, will instead receive them on Tuesday, December 31.
Similarly, other benefits such as Tax Credits scheduled for January 1 or January 2 may be paid earlier, with recipients finding their payments in their accounts on December 31, reports the Mirror.
