Millions of individuals receiving Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), and other benefits, including the State Pension, need to be aware of changes to their payment dates over the festive period.
The Department for Work and Pensions has had to adjust the schedule due to Christmas bank holidays and benefit office closures.
Universal Credit is usually paid monthly on the same date that the initial payment was received in the claimant's account after they started claiming.
If this date falls on a weekend or bank holiday, it is moved forward to the nearest working day beforehand.
