Motorists lost out on pocketing a stunning £2.3 million by not renewing their photocard driving licenses online, according to new figures released by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).Drivers could have saved themselves some cash and the trouble just by using DVLA's online service.

Renewing photocard licenses on the UK Government website costs £14 and the turnaround time is five days. DVLA reported that around one fourth - 23 percent to be exact - of the two million renewal applications it received between April 2020 and March 2021 were sent in by post or filed at the post office.Not only is it the cheapest way to renew, but online renewals can be done at home or on the go.In comparison, applications via post cost £17 and the
