Theo Bleak couldn’t believe it when the call came in last week. The Dundee singer - aka Katie Lynch - wasn’t sure she’d heard correctly.
The 27-year-old’s manager asked if she fancied supporting Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds this Saturday night in her home city.
And it was a no-brainer for the former Grove Academy pupil. Not only would she be playing with one of her musical idols growing up, but the Slessor Gardens gig would give her a chance to play in front of a raucous home crowd.Speaking to Dundee Live about the amazing opportunity, Katie said: “I’ve always regarded Oasis as the second biggest band in the world behind the Beatles and have grown up with their music.“Hopefully I’ll get a chance to chat to Noel behind the scenes at the weekend too.“He’s well known for supporting new young bands and singers and giving them a platform, so it’s a real boost that his team maybe saw something in me and invited me to support them.”DundeeLive brings you the latest headlines from Dundee and beyond. But did you know you all the ways you can stay informed with us?You can get our top stories sent straight to your inbox with our daily news updates.
