Hundreds of illuminated tractors, lorries and support vehicles are again set to snake their way from Lockerbie to Dumfries and back in an amazing fundraising marathon.Dad-of-two, Ryan Muir and his wife Becky, of Johnstonebridge, have just handed over a magnificent £15,000 donation to delighted staff in the Neonatal Unit at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary – the proceeds from last year’s event – and announced they are doing it all over again next month. And they need people to step up and join in their fourth Christmas Illuminated Tractor and Truck Road Run on November 23 which will again help the Neonatal Unit, with those joining the convoy asked to give £20.The unit is close to the family’s heart as both their daughter and niece were cared for there when they were born prematurely.Their daughter Miley Rose was born nine weeks early, and their niece 13 weeks early, and helped at the unit.It prompted them to hold their first charity tractor run in 2020 followed by a second – with the two raising £14,000 – and then last Christmas’ event which was hit with family heartbreak – but still went ahead.Ryan revealed that both his parents, who gave their support with the two previous road runs, were both diagnosed with cancer in the weeks running up to last year’s fundraiser but the family staunchly carried on.Tragically, Carolyne Muir, died at the start of July and this year’s road run is in “her loving memory”.Ryan, a tractorman at Panlands Farm, said: “We are dedicating the run to our mum.“She was a dedicated member of our cause for the neonatal where all proceeds raised will be going to help buy important equipment and training for the staff in the unit to help our little warriors.”Handing over the bumper cheque last week
