A Dumfries woman has praised care home staff for laying on a bumper 100th birthday bash for her nan last Thursday despite lockdown regulations.Angela Bray feared the celebration would be a quiet affair due to the social distancing rules as her nan, Ellen Keeble, marked the centenary at Abbeyfield care home.But staff organised a deluge of birthday cards from St Andrew’s Primary School pupils while two pipers played for her and four police officers sang to her outside the home.Angela said of the special occasion: “It was wonderful.
The care home staff at Abbeyfield had gone out of their way to help her celebrate.“School children had written cards for her so she had a lot and the police came by and four of them sang happy birthday to her.
