A move by Dumfries pupils could lead to defibrillators being made available in all schools as it is now under consideration by the Scottish Parliament.
Pupils at Troqueer Primary School have successfully lodged a petition at Holyrood calling for Automated External Defibrillators to be provided in both primary and secondary schools.
Such a move would bring them into line with schools south of the border who have all been given defibrillators via the UK Government.
The petition was officially accepted on Tuesday and can now be accessed online at https://petitions.parliament.scot/petitions/PE2101 – with the public invited to add their names to support it.
