An award winning yoghurt producer which came back from the dead has been recognised for its commitment to fair pay and secure work.
The future looked bleak for Rowan Glen near Palnure when Dale Farm Ltd shut the plant, with 45 members of staff losing their jobs, in 2022.
But, thanks to funding from South of Scotland Enterprise, it was brought back to life as Rowan Glen Ltd. And the business has now obtained both Living Wage and Living Hours accreditation.
As a result, everyone working there will receive a minimum hourly wage of £12 an hour – higher than the government minimum for over 23s of £10.42 an hour.
