Drug mules are caught with £340,000 stash of cannabis at Glasgow Airport

Two drug mules who were caught bringing cannabis worth £340,000 into Glasgow Airport are facing lengthy jail sentences. Ng Zhan Yi and Vincent Chiamingsan were both refused entry at the immigration office at the Paisley -based airport on April 30 as Border Force were suspicious of their suitcases.

Cops searched the luggage and discovered 69 vacuum-sealed half-kilo packages of herbal cannabis weighing approximately 34.30kg.Paisley Sheriff Court heard these drugs had as estimated retail value of approximately £343,080.

The procurator fiscal depute told the court: “On April 30, both men travelled from Thailand to Glasgow Airport via Dubai.“Around 1.30pm, both men were refused entry at the immigration office.“UK Border Force were suspicious of two black suitcases namely one branded Katao and another branded Safari.“The two suitcases were checked in at Dubai airport under Ng Zhan Yi’s name.
