A drug addict who brutally murdered her own mother 'in cold blood' and then tried to cover up the killing must serve at least 17 years behind bars.
Cassandra Scott, aged 36, stabbed her mum Beverley ten times in a crack cocaine -fuelled rage, then left her body behind in the house that they shared for two-and-a-half months.
Beverley, aged 58, had previously told the police of how she was 'terrified' of her daughter and scared of her temper, as reported by Manchester Evening News.The police were called out to the property previously after Cassandra kicked her to the chest, and punched her to the ground years before.
A judge hit out at Cassandra, of Longsight, Manchester, for trying to 'blacken' her mum's name, by claiming that Beverley had come at her with a knife.
