A driver has died in a horror crash on the M9 motorway, after being pursued by police. The incident happened on the M9 between junction 8 and 9 on Sunday, July 7 at around 11:50am.
A white Vauxhall Corsa was travelling southbound on the motorway, when it veered off the road and landed down an embankment.The 27-year-old male driver of the vehicle was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Two male passengers in the car, aged 19 and 20, were rushed to Forth Valley Royal Hospital. Officers say the circumstances surrounding the collision have been referred to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner.
The road remains closed and won't open until police have finished carrying out their investigations.A number of officers were pictured at the scene looking down the embankment.
