Driver charged over fatal crash with Scots biker who ‘died doing what he loved’

A woman has been charged in connection with a fatal crash which claimed the life of a devoted Scots biker. Jon Marsh died after falling from his black BMW R1150 GS motorbike on the B961 in Monikie, near Dundee, on November 22 last year.The 48-year-old, from Brechin, was pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of emergency services who raced to help him at around 8.50pm.

A police investigation into the circumstances of the collision was launched.Officers have now charged a 44-year-old woman in connection and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 44-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a fatal crash on the B961 near Monikie, which happened on Tuesday, 22 November, 2022.“A 48-year-old male motorcyclist died in the incident.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”Announcing the death of her husband on social media, Mr Marsh’s wife said: “This is a post I never thought I'd have to write.

It breaks my heart to tell you that my best friend and love of my life Jon Marsh lost his life last night doing what he loved best, riding his bike."He was on his way home to us after a social night with his beloved [club] Rejects MCC | EAST COAST."Words can't express how the family feel.
