Drew's own comic books making their mark at Perth's first Com Con event

A young comic book creator is looking forward to getting his table up at Perth ’s first ever conference devoted to comics. Perth Comic Con is pencilled in the diary for August 6 from 10am-4pm at Dewars Centre on Glover Street.

And among those attending is Drew Marr, a 14-year-old from Dundee who has been scribbling and imagining since he was just eight and launched his work aged nine.He self-published his stories and is the founder of Gold Lion Comics.“My first comic book series is called The Rehabilitation of Doctor Eye.

This is a 10-part series based on the life of a supervillain and how he changes to become a force for good,” explained Drew.“My second creation is Drunk Genie.

He is an immoral and incompetent genie who constantly fails to grant people’s wishes properly.”Drew has contributed comic strips to the critically acclaimed publication The Big Comic Scene Annual and The 77, a brand new retro-style anthology.
