Antrim. The former One Direction star, 27, surprised the 22-year-old, who has Down syndrome, on a video call last week and invited her to come to the ISPS Handa World Invitational taking place in the North until Sunday.
In the video – which has more than half a million views on Twitter, Niall called a shocked and excited Amy an ‘inspiration’ and praised her for ‘breaking down barriers’ in the game of golf.
The golfer from Indiana is the first person with Down syndrome to earn an athletic scholarship to attend college. She was invited by the singer to kick off the golf tournament in Galgorm Castle, Co.
