Dragons’ Den star Duncan Bannatyne says he broke even while investing on hit show

Bannatyne says his businesses have lost £30million because of Covid.The 71-year-old told Ruth Davidson’s LBC programme, An Inconvenient Ruth, of the financial hit he has taken.The owner of the Bannatyne Health Club & Spa chain said: “The whole tragedy has cost my company about £30million and funded up by me – not taking dividends I’m not going to take and leaving a loan in."But people have lost their lives and others have lost their jobs.

It’s much more terrible for them.“If we (as a business) continue now, we can survive. But we’re still in survival mode as we’ve lost about 25 per cent to 30 per cent of our members.”Clydebank-born Bannatyne also revealed he “probably broke even” on his 36 Dragons’ Dens investments.
