'Dragon's Den made me cry - but now I've made my first million'

When Nicola Wood was turned down by the Dragon's Den panel back in 2017, she admits their comments were so tough that it left her in tears.

But her parting words after pitching her own hair invention on the hit BBC programme were: "I'll just crack on and make it an amazing success".

In the years that followed Nicola, from Bury, has done just that. And now she says being turned down by the likes of Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden in the Dragon's Den has actually been the making of her business which is booming - on course to make its first million this year.

Nicola, 52, appeared on the hit BBC business show seven years ago to ask for an £80,000 investment. She had just invented her Easi-Weft hair extension holder after working as a hairdresser and realising it would speed up the process for anyone trying to fit the hair pieces while styling.
