Dr. Mehmet Oz‘s two week stint guest hosting Jeopardy! got off to a rocky start before it even began on Mar. 22. A group of former contestants wrote an open letter to the show’s Executive Producer Mike Richards, declaring, “Dr. Oz stands in opposition to everything that Jeopardy! stands for. Jeopardy! is a show that values facts and knowledge,” and that “Throughout his nearly two decades on television he has used his authority as a doctor to push harmful ideas onto the American public, in stark contrast with his oath to first do no harm.”

A group of former Jeopardy! competitors issued a lengthy letter to executive producer Mike Richards denouncing the decision to feature Dr. Mehmet Oz as one of several guest hosts on the quiz show following star Alex Trebek‘s death.

"Jeopardy!" viewers are calling for a boycott of the show for the two-week stretch in which Dr. Mehmet Oz will be acting as the popular game show’s guest host.  The TV figure was named as one of the many guest hosts taking over the show as it continues to find a more permanent replacement for longtime host Alex Trebek, who died in November after a lengthy battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  Oz, who is the host of "The Dr.
