Dr. Anthony Fauci was hospitalized after being diagnosed with West Nile virus. The 83-year-old doctor, who became a household name during the early days of the COVID pandemic as the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, spent six days in the hospital this omnth.

He has since been released, and a spokesperson revealed how he is doing. Keep reading to find out more… “Tony Fauci has been hospitalized with a case of West Nile virus.

He is now home and is recovering. A full recovery is expected,” the spokesperson said in a statement shared with The Washington Post.

West Nile virus is commonly contracted from mosquitos and in some cases can be very dangerous. A vaccine for the illness has not yet been developed.
