Douglas Park will remain chairman of Rangers following the AGM after despite a leading fan group and former chief Dave King voting against his re-election bid.
Park has been at the helm at Ibrox for the last two years and faced the shareholders are the Clyde Auditorium as they gave their verdict on his time at the top of the Ibrox board.
Club 1872, who hold the sixth largest stake in the club worth just over five percent, announced 24 hours before the AGM that they planned to oppose the Ibrox chief at, while Park ’s former boardroom ally King also announced he will be voting against the motor group tycoon ahead of the summit.
Former chairman King’s stake when combined with Club 1872 would tally up to form a slice worth around a fifth of the club’s total shareholding.
