Doug Kiker has sadly died at the age of 32. The former American Idol contestant appeared on the show’s 18th season back in 2020 and was known as the “Singing Garbage Man.” He brought Katy Perry to tears during his audition, in which he performed the song “Bless the Broken Road” by the Rascal Flatts. Doug‘s ex-fiancee Valerie Cook confirmed the death to TMZ, saying that she “hates that her kids lost their father.” Keep reading to find out more… A cause of death has not been determined, but we do know that Doug passed on Monday (March 10).

His sister Angela Evans wrote on Facebook, “It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of my brother Douglas Kiker he was sooo loved and will be missed by so many!

Your singing with the Angel’s now Bubba Please pray for our family as we go threw this very difficult time.” A GoFundMe page was set up to raise money for funeral expenses. “We are now left with the difficult task of bringing him home and covering funeral expenses.

We are reaching out for help to honor Douglas’s memory and give him a proper farewell. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly to the funeral costs and allow us to navigate this difficult time without the added financial burden.
