jail attack. Convicted murderer David Collins launched the assault on inmate John Rocks as the victim was having his hair cut in Addiewell jail in West Lothian.
A judge told Collins, 48, at the High Court in Edinburgh that he had participated in "a toxic culture of violence" in prison.
Lady Carmichael ordered that he should start serving his latest jail sentence at the end of a 22-year minimum period imposed on him as part of a life sentence for murder.The judge told him: "Your record is one of exceptionally serious violent offending, involving the taking of life on two occasions."The court heard that Collins claimed that he was a victim of bullying in prison and was subjected to two attacks in different jails.Collins walked past Mr Rocks.
