Doonfest music festival set to return with packed line up

A small group of villagers are getting ready to rock again as they finalise plans for the fifth running of their very own music festival.Doonfest will return over the weekend of Friday and Saturday, July 5-6, in Dalrymple.

The team behind the event spend all year planning and fundraising to ensure the festival vibe is in place, with all daytime events free to attend.This includes walking with Alpacas, meeting birds of prey, axe throwing, face painting, a children's theatre show by M&M, young talent hosted by Possibility Screams, samba drumming, a silent disco and much more.

Music will be hosted across different marquees before headline bands take over for the evening show.Federation of the Disco Pimp will headline this year's Friday night, which also features Cow Cow Boogie on the main stage followed by Jersey Notes, who are often found performing to packed theatres.

Talisk will headline a Saturday night which also includes The Voice star Jeremy Levif.Stagecoach are providing a free bus back to Ayr at the end of each night or revellers can book into the 'Coorie Doon' festival camping field with their tent or camper van.
