Donny van de Beek says he has no problem playing in whatever position Ole Gunnar Solskjaer asks of him after he impressed in a deeper midfield role against Istanbul Basaksehir.

The Dutchman played the full 90 minutes for just the second time in his short United career as the Turkish side were swatted aside 4-1 at Old Trafford.

In truth the match was really all over inside 20 minutes thanks to two goals from Bruno Fernandes, the first a fierce strike from the edge of the box and the second a simple tap in after an error from visiting goalkeeper Mert Gunok.

Marcus Rashford then won and converted a penalty to make it 3-0, and after David De Gea failed to keep out a free-kick from Deniz Turuc in the second period, Daniel James rounded off
