Manchester United have been given a glimmer of hope in their bid to sign Donny van de Beek after the Ajax star insisted he has not agreed terms with Real Madrid.
The midfielder had been hotly-tipped to move to the Bernabeu this summer, with some reports suggesting a deal was already done.
A move was mooted last summer but the switch never materialised as Los Blancos failed to get Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez off the wage bill.
United have now been put on red alert after Van de Beek revealed he has yet to agree a move to the Spanish giants. He told Helden magazine: "Playing in the sun is always nice, but no, I haven't started taking Spanish classes. "I still haven't said 'yes' to anyone, it's all open.
