A walk on the beach can be just as much of a special treat for dogs as it is for their owners. But, some new rules are coming into place which will see dog owners receive a fine of up to £1,000 in court for taking their four-legged friends on a sandy stroll.

A seasonal ban is coming into effect across the North West, North East and Yorkshire as many popular beach attractions will see an increase of visitors from May 1 to September 30.

Fines will be handed out by environmental officers who break the new ban. To ensure that you do not receive a hefty fine simply for taking your pet out for a walk, we have compiled a list of all the beaches that will be implementing the ban during the summer months.
