A dog owner wrenched her little puppy from the grips of a carpet python with her bare hands after the deadly snake struck. The large reptile can be seen in video footage darting out of a chilli bush in the back garden before wrapping itself around nine-week-old Jasper.
But a bare footed Michelle van Schouwen didn't miss a beat in diving on the predator to rescue her terrified pet during the incident on Friday in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
After hearing the wolfhound-cross crying, she rushed to his aid, first hitting the snake with a roll of Christmas wrapping paper as another female looked on.
However, with time running out, Ms van Schouwen then picked up the snake and swung it round while it still clung to little Jasper.
