'Dog attack' sees child, 11, rushed to hospital by air ambulance

An 11-year-old child has been rushed to hospital by air ambulance after allegedly being attacked by a dog on Sunday. Reports suggest the youngster was left seriously injured following the incident, which saw police and paramedics swarm the area on June 4.

It is understood the dog has been seized by officers from Greater Manchester Police following the reported attack in the Swanley Avenue area of Monsall, on Sunday afternoon.

The Manchester Evening News understands the youngster, aged 11, was taken to hospital from the scene with serious injuries. They are not believed to be life-threatening.An air ambulance was also scrambled to the estate, landing nearby on a grassed area beside the former Queens Hotel and Pub as concerned locals watched on in horror.One Swanley Avenue resident said: "My son heard loud screams and got me and we went running down the stairs.

The young lad had gone back inside the house."We heard they took the little lad to hospital, it's just awful. It's so scary how dogs can just turn and it's so dangerous.
