People who get gel manicures are being warned about the potential health risks associated with the beauty treatment - including skin cancer.The warning comes after a recent study revealed that the radiation emitted by ultraviolet (UV) nail polish dryers can cause harm.The research highlights that such radiation can damage DNA and cause mutations in human cells, leading to concerns over an increased risk of cancer.

As gel nail polish requires UV light to set, it could heighten your risk of skin cancer due to regular exposure of your hands, cuticles and nails to UV rays.
