Newly qualified Dr Raisah Sawati, 33, was found by a nurse asleep on a bench under a blanket after colleagues reported her missing from duty at Fairfield Hospital in Bury.

Staff had earlier tannoyed Dr Sawati four times after checks showed patients on her rounds were in need of follow up treatment.

A misconduct hearing heard two years earlier that Sawati had been found at another hospital lying on a bed in a darkened side room having earlier requested permission to leave the main theatre block to undertake 'audit work' for a consultant. READ MORE: Motorcyclist taken to
