Millions of households across England will be receiving a £150 council tax rebate which will be paid straight into their bank accounts.
The discount will only be paid to those living in a council tax bands A to D property in England. This property must either be the claimant's sole home or main home - this excludes second homes and empty properties from being subject to the rebate.
It comes as the country faces a soaring cost of living crisis with the price of food, fuel, electricity and gas reaching record-high levels.
The tax rebate is intended by the government to help ease the pressure of rising costs affecting nearly every household in the UK.
