A couple had been looking forward to retirement after dedicating their lives to giving vulnerable kids a second chance at life.
Lynn and Steve Smedley fostered more than 100 children over 15 years, from premature babies with cerebal palsy through to teenage mothers.
It was planned that they would retire together in Carbis Bay, Cornwall, in a beautiful bungalow before tragedy struck. Their lives were changed forever when, in April 2017, Lynn received a call from Steve to say he was coming back to see her.
It was there that he revealed that their daughter, Carrie Smedley, 32, had died in her sleep, reports the Mirror. Single mum Carrie, who was mother to three boys, Ruben, 17, Jaden, 11, and Uche, 10, was found by her youngest son, who was too young to understand what had happened."It was actually Uche that had found her, he was six.
