A mum whose baby girl suffered two strokes and a bleed to the brain after being exposed to a cold sore has issued a stark warning about kissing children.

Zoe Picknett told how her beautiful daughter Teddy has lost the ability to speak after turning "floppy" and "cold" one morning.

She phoned her GP, explaining the situation, and paramedics were sent out to the family home in Redcar, North Yorkshire. But 16-month-old Teddy was examined and Zoe told she was "fine" during the callout on 1 February, TeesideLive reports.

It wasn't until the mum, sensing something was wrong, took matters into her own hands and rushed Teddy to A&E that they discovered she was battling the deadly herpes virus.
