Beyoncé has faced backlash for the use of an offensive term in one of her brand new songs. And since its release, a UK disability charity is urging her to remove the word from the track, Heated, altogether.

The song features on the American singer-songwriter's highly anticipated seventh studio album, Renaissance, which was released last week.

It is her solo release in six years following the critically acclaimed Lemonade in 2016, and was first announced in an incredible shoot with Vogue in June.

The legendary popstar, 40, has since received criticism online about Heated, co-written by Canadian rapper Drake, due to its use of an ableist slur, which can be heard twice towards the end of the song. The term is sometimes used to refer to individuals with cerebral palsy, a condition which affects muscle movement and co-ordination.
