Digga D admits drug charges after livestreamed arrest

Digga D has admitted to his drug charges following a police raid which was streamed live online.On Wednesday (February 21), the rapper’s home was entered by police while he was in the middle of a broadcast on Instagram Live.In the now-deleted video, the 23-year-old London artist – real name Rhys Angelo Emile Herbert – could be heard shouting at his property in Bracebridge Heath, Lincoln.

Multiple police vehicles, police dogs and drones were utilised in the raid, which is said to have lasted for two hours.The rapper subsequently appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court on February 22 and was charged with “being concerned in the supply of cannabis and fraudulent evasion of the prohibition of the importation”, as reported by The Lincolnite.Now, At his hearing on Tuesday (May 28), Herbert pled guilty to a charge of smuggling cannabis and admitted to supplying cannabis between October 26, 2022 and February 21, 2024 (per the BBC).The prosecution did not accept the basis of the rapper’s pleas at the hearing on Tuesday.

Judge Simon Hirst adjourned the case until July 8 to decide if there will be a trial of issue.Digga D released his latest mixtape ‘Back To Square One’ last August, and played a headline show at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall in the autumn.
