Netflix has shared the first full trailer for its upcoming Devil May Cry adaptation – and fans have been left feeling “cautiously optimistic”Urban fantasy game Devil May Cry was first released in 2001 and went on to inspire a number of sequels, with the most recent being 2019’s Devil May Cry 5.
The series is heavily inspired by Dante’s epic poem The Divine Comedy while the original game was based on a scrapped idea for Resident Evil 4 and follows demon hunter Dante as he battles various beasties who are trying to invade earth.
Announced back in 2018, Netflix’s animated adaptation of the game is due out next month and takes heavy inspiration from 2005 prequel game Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening.
Creators shared the Limp Bizkit-soundtracked opening credits earlier this year, but now the full trailer has been released, soundtracked by Papa Roach’s ‘Last Resort’. “Animation looks cool.
